1、兩詞均可作名詞表示“選擇”，但在意思與用法上存在著異同。

2、（1）alternative，可數名詞，它只有兩個用法，一是表示“可作的選擇”或“選擇的余地”，也可理解為“選擇的可能性”，此時，它可與choice互換使用。
